I had the opportunity to get my creative bones working. I have been with my boyfriend for 4 years and I wanted to do something that will last for our anniversary. He collects playing cards so I thought for our fourth anniversary I would design and print a pack of cards showing our years together. 4 Years represented through the 4 suits.
BUT.., I wanted to make them more personal so I decided to design front and back of the cards and the box.
I ended up illustrating 56 images. These were mainly for the back of the playing cards and the box.
I made sure that all the J were food, places or things we love to eat. The Q were all images of me and the K were my boyfriend.
The front of the cards were easier to do due to them being similar to generic playing cards.
For the illustrations, I decided to mix it up. Some illustrations were full colour, some were black line drawings, others were black line drawings with a small amount of colour and lastly coloured lined drawings.
I did all the illustrations in one and a half weeks!
